How are things ? What’s on your mind?

Automotive brain droppings:

Plymouth Road Runner with a Coyote swap. That would be rad. Meep-meep!

With VW out of LMP1-H, Toyota and VW are going to be the only ones competing? What happened to the Ferrari LMP rumor since they haven’t really cut it in F1 sort of. Peugeot? Ford?

Last week we had a larger than normal amount of enthusiasts (obvious non-customers) coming here wanting to do photo sessions with our cars (selfies mostly). Once here, they’d ask us things like, “which one is the fastest? Do they cost more than a Ferrari? What is the 0-60 time on these?” Lastly, they’d take their phones out and start Twittering or Facebooking idk themselves, “yeah it’s your boy __ car shopping bout to go on a test drive to see which one I’m going to buy cash cause that’s how I do it ya already know” LIAR!

Hood ornaments are rad

I pass through an elementary school in the morning on my way to work. There is HUGE line of kids being dropped off by cars instead of walkers or bus riders. 2 things though. First, all those kids literally live a few blocks away with full sidewalk access. Second, i’d say 95% of the vehicles are V8 pick-up trucks and BOF V8 SUVs. All there just idling and wasting fuel. SUV’s with V8s and room for 8 to drop of 1 little fat kid.

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is so damn badass but nobody talks about them ever.

IMHO, e39 M5 is the best vehicle ever. If I ever find a way to be wealthy, the only vehicles i’d own (that are street legal lol) would be an !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and a new !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Snickers ice cream is so damn delish! Not car related, just scientificz fax!

I’m going to miss Daytona Prototypes. The noises they made were epic!

Speaking of, as much as I love the C7.R’s beastly noise, the Porsche 911 GTLMs sounded better this year. Small !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

On my way home last Thursday or Wednesday, I saw a street race between new M4 in that gold color vs. some Silverado 2 door. As they flew by me til way up ahead where I couldn’t see them anymore, they were neck and neck. Not bad Mr. typical ghetto-ass mas chuntaro Silverado that everyone here owns.

Why don’t Jeep bros ever call their vehicle by their model name. They always say, “my Jeep” instead of “My Wrangler” or “My Cherokee”. Does this happen to bros that drive other brands?

Will the new Z5 take over the M6 in motorsport?

Why don’t car manufacturers name their cars after dinosaurs more often? Or at least combine them like Megasaur or Brutalsaurus.

Is it wrong if I see the Jalop editors as celebrities? By that, I mean i’d probably get a little star struck. If it happens just meeting other oppos, i’d probably pee my pants seeing Orlove at the airport for example lol.

S65 or Wobbles. Who makes the best Buzzfeed style posts? (random question posts)

Why do extra clean, unmolested 94-96 Impala SS got to be so expensive? :’(

I need more Japanese 1:18 cars.

So basically, the new ZR1 is the same recipe of the ACR Viper just in Corvette flavor. Just making it as close to its GT racecar equivalent for the street? That’s badass I suppose. Nothing wrong with adding actual racecar bits to street cars.

Speaking of... all those years of Toyota Hybrid LMP1 technology and engineering and we still don’t have a Prius-R hypercar. I’m taking full mid-engine hybrid V10 AWD mated to a full carbon chassis with a Prius badge. That would literally be the greatest thing on Earth.

Huh, Ford entering LMP1 and going for the overall win? What a concept.

I’ll get my prime take out of the way: Rebellion went to LMP2 at the right time. They could very well be biding their time to see just how LMP1 would go, and if that class falls, LMP2 takes its place, and Rebellion now becomes the top team.

The rest of my takes in a few minutes.

The chevy traverse is actually a pretty good car. I just spent two weeks with a rental spec traverse and I didn’t hate it. Liked it more than the ford explorer. Good for eating up miles in the mid west.

It’s the right size, all the neat gizmos, and price for what most customers are looking at now a days. Not bad at indeed. Goes the same for the Ford Escape. Oh wow cars have advanced since the old Blazer and Explorer

Ya ready? Takes in 3-2-1-

7. Good choices, but for me, I’d rather have a Chevy SS (with C7 Z06 engine), M2, 4C Spider (manual conversion), 458 Speciale (restyled front), Mitsubishi Pajero Evo, 205 T16, and a custom 600cc Frankenstein’s supermoto.

8. Snickers? Well, what rows your boat, I guess. #StillCookieStillCream

9. I won’t they’re relics. LMP2 is king, now.

10. I can argue with you about that, but let’s agree to disagree and say they all sound the best.

13. Not sure. Depends on the engine. If an inline-6 can take on the rigors of marathon racing, then go for it. But BMW, please, (1) don’t go for waiver racing like Ford and Porsche and (2) make a road-going version of the race car (I haven’t forgiven them for not offering a Z4 GTS, BTW).

16. Wobbles. S65 is Scoob’s crony, and we all know what happens to every single one of Scoob’s cronies.

19. God I can’t wait for that, the Huracan SL, NSX-R, and 991 GT2 to come up and out and get tested by ALL OF THE PUBLICATIONS AND MOTORING SHOWS!!! Come on! We’d pay big money for two and a half hours of a show composed of all the good, beautiful, powerful, agile, and lovable cars across all tiers.

20. I still maintain we use a turbo Camry V6 (packaging), but do use the same KERS as the prototype, with 70% Super GT300 bodywork and a flush pop-up rear wing.

-But, what about a Road Runner swap (Boss 302) into a Road Runner!

-Jeep people, if they don’t have a Wrangler, they want to sound like they do, so they default to Jeep, since that’s what everyone thinks of when they hear the name. My guess, at least.

-C7Rs still win for best noise, for me. Although all noise at Daytona this year was good noise. Trying to determine if I’ll make it for the 3rd year in a row.

-We walk our little dude to school. Mostly minivans and BMWs where we’re at though, strangely enough, for the drop off line. If I had to drive, though, I’d take the Cougar.

-I need more 1:18 cars, period.

Things on my mind:

1. I need an i8, even though I didn’t get to drive it, sitting in one concreted my stance.

Kinja'd!!!

2. I don’t care what it is, but I need something in Porsche’s Graphite Blue.

3. The Evora 400(or whatever it is called) looks sick.

Unpopular Opinion: I think the 991.2 sounds better than the 991.

21 mpg mostly hwy miles at 70-80 mph. 15 mpg if idling or doing lots of starts and stops. Pretty easy to get 350-400 mile range from a tank and still have some left over. The estimated miles remaining on the trip computer seemed fairly accurate.

The i8 seems like it could be a decent daily driver, other than the climb in. I was surprised how roomy it was up front. No joke, I felt like I had more room in the driver’s seat of the i8 than in my FiST.

4. Even though I’m trying to sell the Roadmaster, I’m still considering buying a hood ornament to replace the one that was broken off before I got it. I put new front brake pads and windshield wipers on it last night (first brake job I’ve ever done!)

5. PREACH! Same thing happens in middle school. I get it when it’s freezing cold outside, but when it’s nice or even just a bit chilly? Bike it or walk it if you’re close.

14. Ram Brutalsaurus has a nice ring to it.

15. It blew my mind a little when Cletus was excited to meet ME at the Oppomeet this year. I was sure excited to meet him too, and all of the Oppos there.

17. Because everybody knows how BA Impala SS’s are, and because rust.

Chevy SS (with C7 Z06 engine)... hellz yeah! A good friend of mine has a 2016 Chevy SS. So rad but that would be insanely rad

Here we have on called Half Baked by Ben and Jerry’s ... pretty much the most unhealthy stoner pint of ice cream. So yummy :]

All hail LMp2

Loud noises!

True true

LOL indeed. Those posts get old doe. Things as simple as “what is your favorite____” or “What is the best ___” yawn.

YES!!!! Those all need to happen!

That too would be rad. Prius Gazoo-R sales would be low compared to regular Prius possibly

once you get over the hump it is quite roomy and way more DD ready than Evora 400. Evora 400 with cold tires is just not good

Radness. brakes are not too difficult huh? Well.... except on some Volvo’s where you have to have a factory computer to access the ABS module in order to put the calipers in “service mode”. If not, they will not unlock even with the special spinning caliper push-in tool. Crazyness

Yup, I understand weather, but it’s a wasteful epidemic happening in poor neighborhoods ironically enough

i’ve meet many OPPOs and it was always a rad experience :]

No rust down here :] But prices are a but higher than expected

lol i bet. once warm doe. Some Evoras run Pirelli Corsa somethings that have a 60 wear rating. 60 as in 6-0. Holy moly once warm they are basically race tires, but when cold and wet.... hold on to your butts if that Edlebrock supercharger gets going

IDK maybe. That exhaust note is epic! Lol it would be a trip in a DDing Camry. This Evora 400 finally uses an in-house Lotus engine management ECU tied to that Edlebrock instead of whatever they used before.

It really wasn’t too difficult. I used a Chilton’s manual I bought from the library for $3, and just did what it told me to do. Took me about 2 hours.

Believe me, most of the time the weather here is just fine for the little darlings to hoof it on their own.

Same here, good times indeed. Hopefully we can meet one of these days.

Rust up here drives up your prices too. If I want a rust free one, I ain’t going north to Wisconsin, I’ll be south bound and down!

That’s a nice area. I stayed up there for a few days several years ago, for some basic CNC training.

If you end up anywhere near Chicagoland, let me know.
